General Description
Agate is any translucent microcrystalline form of silica. Agates tend to be translucent, while jaspers are more opaque and does not allow light to pass through it. Agate is a fairly staple product from Madagascar. The agate is sourced country wide and mostly polished in Antananarivo. The material ranges from banded grey, blue, peach, pink and something white to honey or cream coloured. The majority of material tends to be cut and polished into slices and/or other items. We only select from the top 20% of material being polished. These slices are 100% natural and not modified in any way, unlikely the Brazilian material. Price is grade dependant.
